I am so excited to share Jessica and Joe’s Engagement Session on the blog today!

Jessica + Joe’s Story

Jess and Joe met through Jess’s sister, Amanda, and her now husband Dan. Dan and Joe were friends/roommates/coworkers, and naturally Joe spent a lot of time with Amanda also. When Jess moved into the area, her and Joe ended up on a lot of unintentional “double dates” which eventually turned into real dates and many life adventures together.

The Proposal!

Jess and Joe planned a vacation to Greece many months prior to the actual proposal. When they booked their flights, Joe had no idea that this was going to be when he would ask the question. When Joe started to tell his friends about our upcoming trip, he received a lot of “sounds like someone is getting engaged!”. At the time, it wasn’t what Joe had planned, but the more he thought about it, the more it sounded like the perfect idea. Due to the close knit circle of friends Jess and Joe share, he needed to reach out to someone near to Jess but not in our shared friend group in order to keep it a surprise. When Jess wasn’t looking, Joe retrieved Jess’s coworker phone number from her contact list and asked if she would be my secret agent to get the details on Jess’ prefect ring.

Fast forward a couple of months and Joe’s walking Jess up Filopappou Hill in Athens to a spot that overlooks the Acropolis and the rest of the city. Standing on the spot that Joe has virtually been to a hundred times on google maps, he shot a sly wink at the hired photographer who is ready to capture what was to be the best moment of his life so far. The proposal didn’t go as planned since Joe was a nervous wreck and completely froze upon attempting to recite the words he rehearsed in the mirror only an hour or two prior, but he was able to at least get the question out and not drop the ring box. After a few moments of shock Jess said yes and they made their way to the rooftop restaurant to celebrate their engagement!
