I include engagement sessions in The Wedding Experience because I truly believe that they are a VITAL part of the entire process. During your engagement session, you’ll have the chance to get to know me, experience how I shoot and how I handle posing and lighting.
Get Comfortable in Front of the Camera
It’s always a little intimidating to have your picture taken! Most couples have never had professional pictures taken in their whole life before their engagement session. But don’t worry, I will walk you through all of the prompts and poses and tweak them as need be!
What I will learn about you during your engagement session is invaluable! You will feel like such a pro on your big day because of the great practice you had during your engagement session and that’s how it should be! This session will make a HUGE impact on how the wedding day flows.
Get to Know Your Wedding Photographer
Every photographer has a different approach when directing and photographing people and this is a great opportunity for you to get comfortable with my process! I’ll arrive on your wedding day already knowing how you two interact, what your best poses are and how to photograph you in a genuine way!
Your Session Can Serve as Your Hair and Makeup Trial
If it’s an option, scheduling your makeup trial session on the same day as your engagement session is a great idea! You will be able to test if your hair and makeup will hold up and photograph before your wedding day! The most important thing you want to remember is that you not only want to look your best but feel your best as well.
You’ll Have Photos to Use for Wedding Purposes
One of the most common ways you can incorporate your engagement photos especially while wedding planning, is using your images for your Save the Date cards, your wedding website, a guest book, displayed at your wedding, etc. You can get creative with how you want to show them off and show off how AMAZING you both look!

If you have a fur baby you’d want to bring along, we can totally make that happen! (just make sure you have someone along to watch them while taking solo photos)
