Kim + Mike’s Story

Kim + Mike first met in grade school at Assumption BVM in 7th grade. They were in the same class that year and both played soccer for school and the same travel club team. They have been together ever since!

Kim + Mike really enjoy the outdoors! In their free time, they like to go hiking, biking, running, take trips to the beach, hanging out with close friends and as of recently, they have been working on renovating their new home! They love the Philadelphia Flyers and the US Women’s National Soccer team! They are known for traveling with the teams to watch their games in person!

The Proposal!

On the day of the proposal, Kim had a half day from work and while she was on her way home, Mike had suggested to go play soccer together. After they ran an errand together, they headed over to Assumption BVM’s soccer field. Mike said he wanted to race. Mike kicked about 5-8 soccer balls across the field and said to race to the furthest one. He always gives Kim about a 5 second head start when they race. Around mid-field, he caught up to Kim but he never passed her. He called Kim’s name and she wasn’t sure if he was trying to cheat so he’d win so Kim kind of stopped. He had to tug her arm to get her to turn around and forget about the race. When Kim did turn around, Mike was in the center of a heart of rose petals and down on one on knee. Kim said she blacked out a little bit but she was so surprised!
