Megan + John’s Story

Megan and John met the very first day of Megan’s intern year of residency in Nashville. John deployed 4 days after they met for a two and a half month deployment. Megan and John were inseparable those first four days and the rest is history!

Megan and John have a black polar bear dog (lab and newfoundland mix) Lilly, that they absolutely adore! One of their favorite things to do together is going hiking or skiing! They also enjoy trying new restaurants, making cocktails at home, and watching (and going to when it’s not Covid) hockey games, especially the Nashville Predators. 

The Proposal!

Megan and John were going to Nashville for what Megan thought was a family get-together to celebrate all of the birthdays and Megan’s cousin’s engagement from a few months before. Megan had a weekend off which is rare so they sort of booked the trip pretty last minute. Megan and John went for drinks at Megan’s favorite restaurant in Nashville and then had dinner reservations at a restaurant they love. They sat down at this table that was sort of inside, sort of outside. John handed Megan a letter first (Megan said “Guys, I highly recommend this because neither you nor she is going to remember a single word you said in that moment”), and then he got down on one knee and popped the question. They had champagne and spent some time together before Megan’s parents met them there for dinner to celebrate! Megan said “it was absolutely magical.” Megan’s best friend’s threw them an engagement party the next day and her whole family came down the last day they were there. Megan said it was one of the best weekends ever!
